Another neat piece by artist Matt Kish, of “Moby-Dick in Pictures” fame.
Today’s random Friday afternoon post is courtesy of the visual artist / graphic novelist Matt Kish. Kish first grabbed our attention last year when Tin House published his Moby-Dick in Pictures ( a must have for any literary man). My review of that book was published on HTMLGiant. Rumor has it Kish is working on an adaption of Heart of Darkness, although, for whatever awesome reason, this picture of BATMAN popped up on his Facebook feed today. Feast and enjoy!
This reminds me of the “devil’s purses” that we used to find on the beach in New England. They are leathery objects looking very much like the creature above, except that they are filled with skate eggs. Maybe it is also filled with skate eggs, but you can’t see that from the outside.
It does bear a resemblance to those!
